its going to power my components, i wonder if it will make any difference in sound? in any case, the amp is beautiful, and i'm sure the quality is like non-other, i hope to keep this amp for a LONG time.

$700
i'm thinking about getting another one for my sub, but the only ones that would work is the D7401 (800w) or the D7402 (1600w), i dunno, i need to come up with another grand for those amps.

i know, a year ago i would have been like "you're crazy", but i've seen people spend $2000 or more on a video unit for there car, or $5000 on rims, $1000 bodykit, etc. to me, its like an investment, a quality amp i can keep for a long time, transfer from car to car,and still know years from now i have an exceptional piece of electronic goods.
btw, retail on the amp was $1200, so i got a pretty good deal

^^ I donno if he has any pics of it, but I did the amprack for it. The rack is mounted verticle in the trunk, bolted to the crossmember that runs under the rear deck. The amp is mounted to the rack, visible from the trunk, with all the wires running from the terminals under the amp to a hole drilled in the board under the amp. I guess that's not the greatest explination. IM me if you want a better one and he doesnt have a pic of it.

i understand the spending of that much money, but i come from teh audio school of "90% install, 10% product"
on my current project im up to at least 200 dollars on install materials, not counting wiring or anything just for teh front (not including trunk). thats all carpet, vinyl, fiberglass, wood, etc., and im not even close to done.
also, im obsessive about my stereo, im not in it to have one product to last me the rest of my time, im all about experimenting with new and unknown things (hence the 8" sealed woofer enclosures in the door panel) so im constantly buying new equipment.

The audio school I went to was like..
Waste of money.. Although I did learn quite a bit about remote starts and carbon fiber.. Still doesn't compare with the quality and performance of a high end Soundstream or Zapco amp. Besides, who cares how the amp looks so long as it makes the music beautiful, in my experience the fugly looking amps put out the best sound anyway. Hope it was worth the buy, enjoy it.

The 3hz to 50khz is cool, but whats the deviation?
I love McIntosh home amps. I drool over them in the store. Looked at one over the weekend. Had a pair of MC1201 on a pair of B&W's.
MC402
400x2 @ 8 ohms (thats rms)
0.005 THD
2.1db headroom
20-20k (+0 / -0.25 db)
120v / 10 amps
weight 110lbs
Their car stuff is sweet too.

But hey, I'm not the only one asking stupid questions.. I don't get on here too often (obviously from my posts per day being like.. practically none), but when I do, I read about people asking the dumb questions all the time that make me laugh hysterically. But I don't make them feel like a dumba$$ and actually tell them that I'm laughing at them.
But I'm done now cuz this is way off topic.. but yes, how about that amp..

can't wait for taxes
