TV Visor/Headrest help
TV Visor/Headrest help
alright, here's the deal: i dont have the $1000+ for the indash screen/dvd combo.
i dont want to spend $600 for indash screen and $150 for dvd player.
i think i'm just going to get a dvd player and put it in the empty slot in the dash, and i'd like to put screens in the sunvisors and in/on the headrests. i got the headrest part covered, but where could i get the visor screens, or how could i do it? is there a DIY? or do they sell visors with screens? I MUST KNOW!

you cuold buy visors out of a wrecked civic cheap and mount them in those then switch them out. another option, if you are somewhat skilled is to fiberglass a cover for the existing visors with teh screens in them, then you dont actually cut a hole in the visors. and if you are brave, do it with the stock visors, but don't mess up...

i'd say to go with an indash tv/dvd combo though, you can get them pretty cheap off ebay, there or somewhere such as a factory outlet for the manufacturer, i believe the kenwoods are around 600 for indash tv/dvd player at the one near here.

I had two Pioneer 6.5" screens mounted professionally in my visors a while back. Cost me $600. . . and that was a hook-up price. I don't recommend trying it yourself unless you have a few sets of visors to practice on. Even the pro shop (well-renouned in the Seattle area) had to do them twice. . . at no extra charge, of course.
Screens, and visor installs. . . you're easily looking at $1000 just for that. . . . THEN you have to buy the DVD player. Spend $1500 on a GOOD in-dash setup, and things will be much simpler.
VVVVVVVV ------ NOT cheap.
