This system a waste of money?

I know this is gonna be expensive, but will it be worth it in the end?

Head unit: Alpine DVA-7996
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com:7777/pls/...y=45&p_main=10

Monitor: Alpine 6.5 Widescreen LCD
http://iweb.alpine-usa.com:7777/pls/...y=45&p_main=10

Speakers: 2 sets of JL XR65-CSi
http://www.jlaudio.com/evolution/XR650CS.html

Subs: 2 JL 12W7's
http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/12w7.html

Amps: 2 300/4 JL one for the front speakers one for the rear
2 1000/1 JL one for each sub
http://www.jlaudio.com/amps/3004.html
http://www.jlaudio.com/amps/10001.html

this system is very pricy, but i dont care about the price as long as i have a system that sounds very good.
Now is this system worth getting, should i get other stuff, do i need anything else?
Oh by the way this is going to go into a 2004 Civic coupe LX

IMO

I would go w/ the cheapest JL coax's in the rear and not amp them, run em off deck power.

I think a 300/4 is overkill for a single set of components.

You also might wanna go w/ just one sub maybe?

the thing is the head unit has no amps at all, so i would have to run everything off amps and im gonna buy one 300/4 and one 1000/1 amp first and hook the system up like that, and see if it is good, if im happy i can leave it like that if not i can always add one more amp for the speaker or the subs

your car can handle it fine, dimming happens even when you roll your windows down

defenition of car cant handle it is car shutting off from excess power.

as to your situation, to be honest with you, youre looking at 3.2 kw's there
thats some serious power
i would definitely look into an upgraded alternator

www.mralternator.com supposedly makes one for our car for 240 bucks
ohio generators makes one thats pricier, but has a higher output, you can find them somewhere
or
go the custom route, go on www.termpro.com and on their forums theres a guy named dominick iraggi, i belieev he goes by the name trafficjamz or something similar over there, nad contact him. he's the most well known maker of custom alternators in the audio world

with the upgraded alternator youd also need an upgraded battery, and possibly a second one...

since youre probably spending over 4 grand easy on that system, whats another 500 bucks on making it work to its full potential

I think your system sounds good, I would make one change though. You say your going to have the W7s in the back, that sounds good. The rear JL650CXi coxials in the back sound fine too, but for the front, instead of having the coxials, I would put in the JL XR650CSi Component set. Those amped up on a 2 channel amplifier will be loud as hell. I have a set in my civic amped up at 150W RMS and they are loud as hell. I just think with coxials in the front the sound won't be as full as if you had a compnent set.

I run components in the rear deck and love em'. Run a good set of kicks and some tweets in the a-pillar and you won't have to work about your front stage. Good call on the amps, JL is great quality and efficent. Red Top Optima is what I run too. I have the D900. I recommend it over piece-mealing the system. Just do it all at once.
