so what 6.5" speakers fit in these? Before, I was planning on some image dynamics components; would those still work?

LudlamTheory is an unknown quantity at this point

most 6.5's will fit but you might have to mount em differntly or rig them slightly. in reality, theyre designed for 5.25's

I think most 6.5s won't fit the conventional way...they may have to be loaded from the back. Most 6 inch speakers may fit. Do what I did, call Crutchfield and ask them....especially if you have a speaker that they carry. If you are thinking about loading IDMaxes call Sounddomain customer support and see what they say.
