A simple question...
Do i wire the amp's remote lead in parallel with the HU's remote lead connected to the car's remote lead? Simplicity....2 wires into one...

Another simple Q...i always tend to forget..

When we wire the amp's power wire to the battery...what are the before and afters..do we disconnect the negative batt terminal before connecting the power wire to the battery or the positive one? And after installation, which one to connect it back. I wanna avoid sparks and potential surge in current that may damage my amp..

IMO that isn't the way to do it. Will it work, yes. But you can run into problems that way.

Normally you use the remote wire off the aftermarket HU. This way the car can be on, but you turn the power off on the HU, and therefor the amp is also off. When you want it on, turn the radio on, and the amp comes on automatically.

As far as the installation. Simply leave the fuse out of the power wire. When you get it all wired then put it back in.

The other way you turn the car on and it tells both the amp to turn on and the HU. Now you can turn the HU off but the amp will never turn off. What happens in this situation sometimes is that the amp and subs just start going crazy due to the fact that they have no signal to play, and don't know what to play. The cure for this is to never shut off your car radio.

It's always best to disconnect the Battery Terminal - side.

As for the remote wire, do you have an aftermarket HU with a remote lead/amp turn on? It will be a blue wire.

hummm, when i turn off my deck, my amp still stays on, cause it has a light built into it, but there is no sound coming out.
i wonder why it doesn't turn off when the deck does, i wired the remote to the remote on the deck.

It sounds like you tapped into the Acc + or the power that comes on with the ignition. Does it go off when you turn off the ignition?

no, its hooked up to the remote on the deck, and it does turn off when the car is off

but the light is still on when the deck is turned off.
the only thing i can think of, is that my deck doesn't really turn off, only the display is mostly cleared, and a big clock is displayed. maybe the deck can't turn off

anyone else got a Pioneer DEH-P7300 and have this same situation?

That's odd, really odd. It should turn off when you turn the radio off in most cases. I don't have that deck and I really don't know.

There should be a way to turn it off. On my pioneer I have to hold the power button down and it shuts down completely. The clock will show if you set it to, but the buttons and music should be off.

The car has two wires .... memory and acc.

Memory is on all the time. This is how the HU keeps the clock and presets intact. Thts all it is for, memory functions of the radio. Hence the name memory. (Red)

Acc is only on when the car is on. This is where the radio gets its power to turn on and power speakers etc. The radio can only be turned on if this wire is turned on too. This is why its called accessory. The radio is a car accessory that should only be on if the car is on. (Yellow)

The remote turn on is for amps. It is the blue wire coming out of the radio. This is controlled by the radio on/off switch. This is for times when the car is on, so acc is on, but the radio itself is off, so the amp will be shut off. They call this the remote wire because an amp is a remote add on enhancement for the radio ... its not a true acc to the car. (Blue)

By connecting the amp remote wire to the acc lead the amp will be on whenever the car is on .... reguardless if the radio itself is on or not.

Get what I am saying?
