Assistance w/ Box Design
Ok. I've decided to redo my box, actually using some mathematics to see if it sounds better, but I don't know what to do w/ the info I have.
Here are my specs:
I have 2 JL10W0's and would like to put them in a bandpass box. The specs on the speakers are:
Fs - 24.2
Qes - .42
Qms - 8.56
Qts - .4
Vas - 2.45ft^3
Xmax - .34"
lWlm - 85.5dB
Sd - 54.7in^2
Re - 3.86Ohms
I don't know what this all means, except for Resistance, and how it all plays into building a box. Can anyone lead this horse to water?
Thanks.

what kind of output are you looking for? are you looking ot maximise musicality? to make the loudest noise possible? to optimize rap music beats, or to play warm tones?
whats your goal?

I can do the calculations for you and give you an exact measurement on the box.. however, I STRONGLY RECOMMEND you don't put those subs in a bandpass box. You'll get maximum performance out of those subs if they're in a sealed box.. MAYBE a ported box but even that's pushing it.
I'm looking for a box to go w/ hip-hop/breaks beats. I currently have them in a bandpass box, but it's probably measured off since it was my first crack at it. It doesn't sound as good as I would expect it to. Currently the box is approx 36" long, 14.25" deep and 15.5 inches high. Each of the two sealed areas housing the 10's are 6.5" long, if you can picture what I'm saying. If not, here's some rudimentary ascii. BTW, I was wrong in my earlier post. Here are the correct specs:
Fs - 25.6
Qes - .413
Qms - 8.56
Qts - .394
Vas - 2.45ft^3
Xmax - .34"
lWlm - 86.3dB
Sd - 54.7in^2
Re - 6.43Ohms
Nominal Impedance - 8Ohm
Mounting Depth - 5.375
Driver Displacement - .050 ft^3
[-----------------------------]36"
-------------| |--------------

| | | |
------------------------------
[-----]6.5"
If there's anything I'm missing, please just ask. I appreciate any help you guys can offer.

If that's the type of music you're into, you might want to consider getting 12's instead of 10's.. or perhaps some better 10's.. the W0's are ok subs but you're not going to get the performance you want out of them.
Anyways, those are all the specs needed and I'll get the measurements of the new box to you sometime today or tomorrow

well, fiddling with winISD a little, i came up with a box with a single sealed chamber 2.2 cubic feet in volume, and a ported chamber 1.5 cubic feet in size tuned to 46 Hz. A single 4 inch port would need to be 7.75 inches long to achieve this tune.
anechoically, its a well rounded box. I dont know if accoustically yrou car will be similar to mine, but if so, it should actually sound reasonably flat. your bass wont be overpowering or special or anything, but the 45Hz sinkhole combined with gain gain at low frequencies should ensure a smooth response for most music, only discounting any sweeps that may be in your rap musics.
increasing the size of the ported chamber while keeping the port dimesion constant will increase the low end a little bit, but in this situation, a little bit goes a LONG way, so it wouldnt take much. 1.5 seems plenty fine, however, for a smooth response anechoically.
I can only guess what itll do once its in the car, rather than model it up
