.5 Ohm Amp?
ehh. I doubt it. And if there is, you would pay for it through the ***. 1 ohm stable is hard enough. I know this doesn't answer your question, but I'm just curious; why do you need an amp stable to .5 ohm?!

definately orions.
i saw a mustang today, it had an orion amp rated at 50x2 @ 4 ohms, H2250 model or something, what a cheater amp.
the shop tested that thing, put out about 36 volts, then they calculated it, 2600 watts or so, i said "how do you figure that?" he says "multiply 36 by itself, then divide by .5" i was amazed to find it ran at half an ohm. i was also amazed that it was rated at 100 watts, but put out over 2000watts.
so yes, some orion amps will do .5 ohms.

JL isn't stable that low, i tried with my 500/1 Mono. HiFonics Colossus is stable that low, they just installed one at the local shop i do some work for. Virtual Technologies amps are stable that low. There are bound to be more, but these are the one's i have found from the brands i have available to me. all of them are high dollar too. why do you need them stable that low anyway? planning on making mass amounts of power?

i have an audiobahn high current that is .5 ohm stable... 1 ohm bridged. and it's not super expensive. it's rated 75rms * 2channels at 4 ohms, do the math... 1200rms total power.

there's your orion amp
as to why you may need an amp stable so low, there are subs which feature 1, .5, or .25 ohm voice coils. it's all about flexibility.

These companys that made amps that can handle less than 1 ohm, made them for competition purposes. For example..................
Most competions back in the day were judged using wattage classes. 1-300, 301-600, 600-900 and 900+, at 4 OHM
A guy could use a 75x2 amp, run it at .5 ohm, and would easily dominate the spl class for the wattage class he was in, trust me you would not want to enter a SQ competition at .25 ohm, THD would be horrible.

b/c i have seen ppl run 6 subs off of one amp and wired them down to run 1 or .5 ohm's. It all depends on what u want to do. I had (4) 15's running off one amp at 1 ohm and my amp is stable down to .5, i could run more subs (if i had the room).

im just saying i cant think of a single situation where yoru only option is to wire down to .5 ohms as opposed to something higher, is all. for those who are searching for an amplifier, and think they need smoething that is .5 ohm stable, mono.

^^^ right right......today there are so many options out there with amps that i don't even know who makes what anymore. Amps that are stable below 1 ohm are becoming obsolete.

alright, i could have sworn i saw a sub featuring 4 .25 ohm voice coils, but i can't find it a second time so i'll take the hit.
as to the audiobahn amps you asked about, i have a A2350HC that makes...
75RMS * 2 @ 4 ohms
150 * 2 @ 2
300 * 2 @ 1
600 * 2 @ .5
1200 * 1 bridged ar 1 ohm

lets say you find a quad voice coil .25 ohm subwoofer.
wire all in series, thats a 1 ohm load.
one ohm stable amplifier.
industry standard! vtec is right, .5 ohm stable amplifiers are obsolete, imo

Must have been a custom made sub just for ***** and giggles or was made for spl. Therefore they would put (4) mono amps on it that were stabe at .25 ohms. Stupid IMO.
I did see on the internet a custom made sub that was 6ft in diameter.
