Remote Start Not Starting

Can anyone tell me what might cause the remote start to stop working. I have had it for about a year and it has worked fine ever since I got it. Now all of the sudden when I try to start it with the remote it acts like it is going to start and then just dies. Any help would be great.

Sounds like the remote starter has lost its tach programming.

Well in a viper 550 i never use tac sence, i always use voltage sence and its not a problem.

Turn your key on then off, then hold down your programming button. It will chirp once then twice then 3 times. After the 3rd chirp let go and push and release it twice and hold on the 3rd press. It should chirp twice. Hit unlock on your remote and it should chirp twice again. Put the key in the ignition and turn it on and off. The car will do a wierd siren sound and that means it done with programming mode.

Hit your lock and unlock together and see if it starts.

tach is the same on all DEI alarms, you turn on the car, hold valet within 5 seconds until LED goes solid....but i doubt its your tach, and if it is, its the wiring. the alarm stores information in non-volatile memory so it stays programmed even if it loses power. push come to shove you can just switch it to voltage as mentioned above, the likley hood of you needing over-rev protection on a new car is slim.

Could it be his immobilizer bypass is going bad? Or stupid question, but I ran into the same thing...

but mine just turned out that it was in gear w/ the hand break up... so it'd start then die.

Check the positioning of the immobilzer ring at the ignition switch. Sometimes if it moves a little bit it won't let the car start.
