yea i would put fiberglass resin inside the box but i dont think its a good idea unless your going for a real custom job because i would need to bolt the box down ect ect
youd never feel the benefit. fiberglass is jsut a superior desision, economically, and practically.
but for those of us who like the look of carbon fiber, you can always put a layer of carbon outside the visible fiberglass section. viola! true cabon fiber finish to a humdrum fiberglass box!

do as rabbit said. build the box out of glass, then put an outside layer of carbon fiber. much cheaper, but you still get the look. plus wouldn't the cf be practically as heavy once you put on hte resin and what not?
there would be a significant weight reduction for the same strength with carbon as opposed to glass.
however, lets push some fake numbers here that have no basis in reality. lets say you make a 50 pound fiberglass box for your 20 pound 10w7 (or other comparable woofer, 20 is a middleweight as far as weight is concerned) your amplifier another solid 15 pounds.
lets say with carbon fiber (we are thaking enthusiast level here) you save 20 pounds on the box, so rather than 85 pounds of bass you have 65 pounds of bass.
the question I have, is if you are loading 50+ pounds in the trunk, what difference does an extra 20 pounds make? your not talking about optimizing lightness, you are still adding mass weight to the car!
now lets talk abotu cost. lets say you needed five bags of matting and one gallon of resin to finish this box in glass. no worries! $5 a bag and $20 a gallon of resin at home depot. so $45 in costs.
what about the carbon? the roll is only 38" wide, so PER YARD five yards of carbon is LESS material than five bags (1 sq yard) of matting frmo home depot. lets still say its enough material however. also epoxy resin is a requirement of carbon to get any solid structural properties, due to the thin nature of the epoxy.
so! carbon: $35 a yard, and $60 a gallon JUST for side A, much less side B (i dont know exact cost, say $30 for the side B?) so total cost of $265.
so..... the bottom line? $45 versus $265, to save an estimated 20 pounds of box......
does it seem worth it?
