Lightbulb Amp Troubleshooting

Alright so here's the deal. I driving home from school today (about an hour drive with med. traffic) bumpin my system pretty good but not too loud. About 10 min. from my destination the sound from my front speakers and tweets start going in and out nd I start to panic but didn't worry much untill like a minute later they completely turned off. So I'm like WTF? This has happened before and all it ended up being was a loose ground wire. Anyways the last time the little red light on the amp would come on so I could tell that the amp was still getting power. The thing is that this time that little red light didn't turn on! I checked all the wires and everything is hooked up the way it's suppose to. But I know the amp isn't getting any power because the red warning light isn't coming on. I already checked the power cble hooked to the battery and everything seems to be fine. Is my amp DEAD? Is the fuse shot? Can anybody tell me what this means? The amp and speakers were working fine all day today and for bout 40 min on my drive home. So something must be wrong with the amp.

only you can tell us if the fuses are shot... but check the ones on the amp as well as one inline to the battery.

buy a $10 multimeter and you will know if the amp is getting power. the red light wasn't on when the amp came out of the box, and i know it didn't have power then, red light means the amp is in protection, as the ground is not good enough to support the amp's power draw. no light means the ground isn't there at all.

as a betting man i say ground wire...

I'll recheck my ground, but I did take a quick glance at it and seemed to be on.
