New Civic owner
Hey guys,
I'm a new civic owner 2k1 Ex coupe, and am looking to replace some of the stock audio equipment, eventually I plan on replacing all stock audio components(speakers, HU ect) and in time hope to add at least one sub and an amp. But for now, I'd like your opinions on some Head Units. Where and what should I buy with future upgrades in mind? In my previous car I had a really old pioneer that i got from best buy for like $180 and must say I was really impressed with its output. I'm willing to spend $200-250 on the HU.
Thanks to all responses and I hope to talk to some of you guys later, from the threads I've read, I'm extremely happy I found this site!

What size would you recommend for the front 5-1/4" or the 6-1/2"? Also, should I go component and replace the two tweeters that are mounted on the top of the door also or just the bottom mounted speakers? I'm prolly getting really annoying right now, but i want to be as informed as possible once i start buying
btw- Green your ride is tight, i love the blue dash lights

I finally added separate tweets and they sound so much better than just door speakers. For a deck in your price range, definately check out Eclipse. Their lower end stuff is really good and the colors are nice and match the stock lighting pretty well.

I bought infinity everything and I love the sound but I would buy some 6x9's first personally, probably ones like Alpine Type R's but make sure they can fit in your trunk before you buy them, we have torsion bars that limit the size of the 6x9 that can go into the trunk...

I also have Infinity everything. Tweets, 2-way speakers, and sub. As far as the tweeter mounts, I just used the triangles and did a surface mount. I have a sedan, so they obviously look different. Pics should be up in a week or so.

I have a coupe so my tweets are mounted in the A beams and I just put my infinity ones where my stock ones were, they fit perfect, I also have infinity 6x9's (not mounted cause they wont fit until I get gas shocks so I have boston pro's in now) and 6.5" rounds and a 12" dVQ
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone, I know crutchfield is good for looking up what will fit, but they mad overprice their stuff, where's a good online place to get stuff? And anyone in NE Ohio have any suggestions as to brick and mortar places?
Well, I bought my front speakers (Pioneer) from Crutchfield because they included Master Sheets, mounting hardware and speaker harnesses. I have always been happy with the service I've gotten at Crutchfield.
As far as brick & mortar places, I've bought at Best Buy and Sears. Sounddomain.com provided both the head unit installation kit and the mounting rings I needed to install my front speakers. Circuit City is okay, but they never seem to carry the models I'm looking for.
