box enclosure
does it matter how close the back of the sub itself is to the back of the box because the box i have now has like 6 inches of room after the sub and i want to create a new box but smaller and stealthire so if i made it like 3inches closer to the back would that affect the sound or wat?

there should be some space, but 3 inches is fine... as long as the back isnt resting on a piece of wood... the coils need to vent...
as to you changing the box size, are you gonna make is less deep and wider? or are you just gonna change the airspace altogether... what subs are you using, and what airspace are you gonna use?

Just go to your local stereo shop and ask them to build you a box via the Thiele-Small Parameters that mach your subs. It will cost a little bit more but it will sound a TON better.
ludlman, i have 2 12" rockfords and a huge box haha u can see it under my ride what i want to do is juct shorten the boc in the back like bring the back closer to the sub and split it so i can sepearte on each side mostly just to make me more space and get rid of that bhuge annoying box..does that make sense?...
