Good news to those who want double din

So i have been trying very had to convert my dash into double din, I did not want to do all the fiberglass etc. Then i called METRA and they did make a kit for our cars, it requires alittle bit of mods, but nothing too big. I will get the part number and post it later. I know this is going to make alot of people happy

IDQcivic should not be trusted
I've got 2 headunits mounted in the stock location..... they just screw right in and it looks fine... now sure what the kit would do???

how would double din change the visibility... the angle of the dash is what screws you

it would change considerably for a flip-down face HU like my pioneer 840, atleast id get to see the bottom of the screen if it was lowered on the dash.

Damn. I've been challanged. Alpine, I've seen your car here as well as sounddomain I believe. We have very similar cars. I have a ton of suff on E-Bay right now audio wise. PPI Amps, Orion, etc. I do like the dash though. I sold the FRX-322 and the PAR-245 in the dash so I need to redesign it. I think Audio Control has a new dash mount controller with LED. Maybe I'll mold that one in. So be honest, what did your D900 cost you considering you park it at Alpine for work? I got mine for 1700 w/receipt and kicked down the "employee buyer" a few bills.

No challenging here but just here to help people get some ideas, it took me a pretty long time to get it just the way I like it but like all other things in my car I have to re-do it to fit my hard drive, if you look at the link you'll see how Alex has his dash looking good also using the same method I did and using just about the same material. oh and as what I paid for the IVA-D900 lets just say I didn't pay half as much as you did but thats all I wanna say for now. (not trying to rub it in)

Still don't think metra makes a double din'er, unless your talking about the one in the picture which I wouldnt even know where to begin installing as a mounting kit, lol.
