I just bought Pioneer 6x9's model #TS-A6970R to replace the stock 6x9's in the back of my '03 coupe LX. On Crutchfield's site it says top mounting depth is 2 7/8 and bottom is 3 3/8. I've read a lot about not being able to have new 6x9's clear the truck supports, will I be ok with the speakers I got?
Also I've never installed speakers which require anything more than popping out the old speaker cover and taking out the stock and putting in the new ones. I'm pretty technically inclined but am just worried about the install. What are your experiences with taking out the rear deck? I've read through the DYI and I think I can handle it. Am I in for any suprises? .
I also got a pair of Infinity 6002i's to replace the front stock speakers. Any thoughts on these? I tried to put them in today but needed my drill and it was dead. Has anyone put these in?
My Pioneer DEH-P5500MP HU should be in on Tuesday too so hopefully I'll be all set to do the install next weekend.
