1000w Capacitor Question

i'm going to buy a system that will be pushing out about 350w x 1(RMS) and i want to get a capacitor for it. i want to get the lightning audio capacitor that handles 1000w but is that too much? or will it work just as well, if not better, than the 500w? i just want the 1000w to get the digital read out....thanks for your help.

You don't need a capacitor for that amount of power. At the moment I have 1000 watts of power in my car and there is slight headlight dimming without my cap, and none at all with it.

Your headlights probably won't dim at all with 350 watts.

well, i mostly want the 1000w capacitor because of the digital read out and i know i can get the 500w capacitor but was wondering if the 1000w will hurt it or what. and i DO need a capacitor because my neons and map light dim and flicker already with my current alpine head unit at bass peaks.

It's not gonna hurt it at all. The flickering isnt gonna cause a problem in your car if thats what you're worried about. My car did that with the OEM radio. You would really be better off saving your money for something else.

LudlamTheory is an unknown quantity at this point
and capacitors arent measured in wattage, theyre measured in farads...

also, teh "correct" power per farad is debatable as well....

on top of that, ive run near 2k rms with absolutely zero problems, and ive never touched a capacitor
