need some amp/sub troubleshooting help!
My sub/amp stopped working the other day, Im not sure what happend.
I dont have anything specatacular, but its plenty for what iwas looking for
i put it in 2 months ago
its a 300watt schillage amp, going to a 12 inch lightning audio sub, in a box,
i but them brand new.
I have the amp getting juice, the little green light is on. on the amp. but it is not getting warm, so i know its not playing, I checked the 2 fuses on the amp, and the fuse on the power wire, they are all fine.
i have line level inputs for the sound, i looked at the connections and they seem fine, i used wire taps. so i know the problem isnt there,
Everything is plugged in, i did a really good job mounting on back of the seat, with all wires fixed in place and all.
So any suggestions on why its not playing,
Did the amp just die? out of knowhere or something?
any help would be really apreciated.

just cuz its not getting warm doesnt mean its not playing... get any speaker from around your house or from anywhere for that matter and plug it into your amp and see if it plays...

Maybe a blown output transistor. Lower quality amps use low quality transistors, thats why they dont last long. I dont know the quality of your Schillage , i have never even heard of it them.
Replacing your transistor should be no more than 30-40$, 10-15 if you know how to do it yourself.
But if you hook up another speaker and you still get no output, take it out and take it to a local car stereo place and have them bench it.
That will solve your problem.

Best place to do that is walmart. Maybe a 600 watt Jensen?
Where did you get that Shillage amp? Have a pic of it?
