My Infinity Kappas 6x9's. .
I love these things. . They sound awesome, really clean and crisp sound comes outta them . . However, the mounting depth is too deep. . I had to take off my assist bars for the trunk lid. Anyways. . this was good for awhile, but now it's annoying, I like to just be able to swing my trunk open really easily, so I think the speakers gotta go.
Which 6x9s should I change to?
Anyone have some that fit like they should?
Which ones do you all recommend?
I think these would be fine, but they have some kind of plastic on the outside of the magnet, does anyone know if this comes off?

i did the same thing when i installed my kickers. Yeah it is anoying but i guess its worth it to me. I couldnt find any really good quality 6x9s that would fit back there without taking them out. Just some shitty quaility speakers

What kind you got? I have the Infinity 6x9's, The older green ones, 2-ways. And mine fit. I had to take the rubber piece off the magnet though. You could always put in truck struts. Search for Grey's DIY.

thanks to grey
yeah, I installed them and they are great. I got 2 50lb gas springs (heavy duty for my rear spoiler) and the trunk opens smoothly all the way... I also have the kappa 6x9s, my trunk opens and I still get to keep the speakers

click the link i posted, the website to order the parts is in there.
i have 2 seperate 2 channel amps, one for the fronts one for the rears... no sub, cause i need trunk space and dislike extra weight.
