Crossfire Amps?

i am considering upgrading my amp choice in my vic, i currently have a JL Mono 500/1 amp pushing my Virtual Technologies 10", and it can handle up to 1000 watts rms... i have been reading stuff on different amps, and came across a crossfire ad, and it said that they are the holder of the last 6 successive legal records set in spl competition... and they claim to be the loudest amp made... what i am wondering is if this is true, and if so, what is the sq losses i would gain or suffer from upgrading to one of their amps? if not this brand then what should i go with? if i qould be better benefited by running a higher powered JL that would be fine as well, being as my custom amp enclosure incorporates the JL logo anyway... thanks

My crossfire amp is rediculously powerful and i dont think plan on getting rid of it unless it dies. I have the vr2000d which is 2000 watts rms at 2 ohms. The only downside is that you definatly need a second battery with the big crossfire amps otherwise the amp will shut off. With only 1 battery and when the bass hit my car would drop to 10.2 volts and the amp shut off. Once a second battery was added it never drops below 12.9

As far as sound quality you already have a class d amp so your not going to notice any difference in SQ when switching to the crossfire. I wouldn't trade my crossfire amp for anything that JL makes.

the amp pushes the power it states. the only reason it has won so many comps is because the amp can operate up to 16 volts, which is what a lot of competitors do these days.

so, this being the case, in order to get the amp to run at peak efficency would i need to run it at 16 volts? also, is there gonna be a loss of sound quality, sure, spl is good, but i don't want crappy bass just for the sake of rattling **** in the car... i want it to sound acoustically pleasing... who cares if people walking down the street can hear it, i put the system there for me to enjoy not people outside the car, which is why i dynomated the whole trunk twice...

there will be no diff probably in anything. if you want it louder, get a more powerful amp. if the crossfire has more power, itll be slightly louder.
