I was thinking about trying something new...I made the ports on my box pretty easy to switch in and out. Anyway, I was thinking about porting my subs to 35 hrtz. My question is where should I set my subsonic filter if I port to 35 hrtz? Is the 33 hrtz subsonic filter a good choice for subs tuned to 35, or should I try something lower? Could Shivas even handle being ported to 35 hrtz?
I basically want to see how loud my subs can get and still play music sounding good driving everyday.

the best way to determine this freq is to use a box modeling program. I belive winISD will do this. Look at the cone excursion vs frequency plot. You will see the cone excursion drastically rise at freqs lower than your tuning frequency. Just find the Xmax spec for your drivers and play with diff subsonic crossover points to where you get max output but stay below your Xmax.

well, as you said ports are easy to toy with. try going up to 30ish with a 28 hz subsonic. should give you a little spl boost. if anything you can keep a few ports laying around your house to interchange.
if you ever feel like seeing what a nice spl burp sounds like make a set of ports for 40 or so. i woudlnt tune any higher with a shiva
