Hey everyone, my older JL 12w3 kept having a problem with the tinsel leads snapping. The thing is, I've been told that it is either my ported box or a setting on my Alpine MRD-M300. I currently have a new 12w3v2 and I am not building a new sloted box that is exactly like the one in the owners manual for my V2 just to make sure it isn't my old box that causes the tinsel leads to snap. Someone recently told me though that my Input Mode(Gain) on my M300 had to be set tp -12dB because my Alpine HU had 4V Pre-Outs and if it was on anything less, 0dB or -8dB then my sub would be ruined. Well, personally I don't know if that is right or not, but when I set the Input Mode on my amplifier to -12dB, my sub doesn't even hit that hard. When it is on 0dB, then my sub will pound. When I brought my car to tweeter and I had someone set it up for me, they set my Input Mode to 0dB, and this guy was an installer. Now, I just want to make sure that I can have my Input Mode at 0dB without anything happening to my new V2. Id really appreciate you alls help.
