MB Quart PSD 6.5" 2-Ways. Tweeter is pretty crisp, similar to Boston Acoustics Pro tweets, though not as much as Focal tweets. Some say the mid driver is weak, I think it's pretty good, has a very good frequency response, but isn't as punchy as JL XR mids or Focal mids.

Overall I think they have a pretty smooth balanced sound, not harsh like some seem to think.

i've got focal access all around.. a set in the front doors and a set cut into the back seat's walls (in a coupe).. i love them, they're really clear and crisp.. the tweeters are beautiful and the woofers have pretty good mid bass.

Using Diamond Audio M6 6.5" components in the front and M3 6x9s in the rear deck. Feeding them with a 75wx4 RMS DA 600.4 amplifier. Clean, crisp, and POWERFUL.

Quart PCE 216s here

I have 'em in some Q Forms, they were a bit big, so I had to mount them from behind, but that seemed to work just fine. Not too sure about the stock location.

goodluck

like tbone323 i have my Diamond Audio HEX S600s mounted from behind in Q-Forms (they would fit the normal way, but then the grill wouldn't fit). i was running a D5 600.4 bridged (300watts x 2) until today, i traded the amp in for a D5 300.2 (75 watts x 2).
i think diamond audio makes a great sounding speaker, and the HEX come with a choice of silk or aluminum tweeter.
how much do you want to spend on components anyways?

I just got JBL GTOG05c's 6.5" components. They were only like 100 some bucks for the pair. I think for that low a price they quality is pretty good. The crossover is kinda large, but I mounted it in the interior kick panel so that gets it outa the way, and the tweeters mounted in the sails without too much effort (although I would rather have them closer to the main drivers). They seem a little weak in the high-midrange, but like I said, for the price you don't have much room to complain. The install involves drilling 3 holes in the door and a little trim work on the door panel.

Plus they can handle 90 RMS, so they are within the range of my 80wx4 amp setup... have a low end freq response of 55hz and a decent sensitivity.

All this said, my 6x9 kappa's in the rear still kick their ***

I made my own component set:

peerless csx mids,
peerless RDC2000 tweeters
crossed over by an audiocontrol 2xs.

170 dollars including crossover, but sound like a set of 300 dollar components

no, like i bought one set of mids, bought a completely unrelated set of tweeters, got an active crossover, set my own crossover frequency, etc.

i use a 4 channel amp where the 2 front channels run tweeters, and teh 2 rear channels run mids

ebay for like 40-50 bucks. audiocontrol makes some of the best crossovers out there, and the 2xs is their lowest one, but is perfect for running just a component set
