interested in kickpanels?
is anyone interested in kickpanels molded from the q-logic q forms? if so let me know. i could just take mine out, make a mold, and sell them to you guys for cheaper than a q form. i might even be able to do stuff like carbon fiber or vinyl or carpet for a lil extra.
just need to know a few things:
1 - how many people are interested
2 - what do you guys feel is a reasonable price for them
3 - what kinda finishes would you be interested in
only 2 differences would be there from the regular qform:
1 - they would be basically made specifically for 6.5's (6.5's are a PAIN in the *** to mount in qforms), although i could tweak them for other sizes
2 - no grill on the mid.

If you could get them im carbon fiber, if they look good, fit good and at a decent price i would be very interested. Decent price to me would be around 60$ depending on finish.
1 question, are these for 6 1/2" components (mid/tweet)?
getting a grill is no problem at all.

dizzle, these are for 6.5's, and yes they would fit right because they are coming from the q-logic q forms
ed, pm me about that and ill see.
im not actually gonna do this unless i can get a decent amount of people because i'd have to rip them out of my car and rip the speaker out, make the mold, etc etc etc...

i would think that 60 would be a good price unfinished, thats fully strengthened and a carpet quality top.
paint quality top would be more, carpeted would be more, fully painted would be more, id advise agasint selling carbon kicks, carbon = pain in the bass on a curves surface, but that would be even more expensive than paint.
just my opinion. if you can REEALY crank out cheap molds proper shape but not-reinforced, id sell them for $30. I was gonna say $40,

I'd be interested in seeing how a mold would come out. If you make a test mold and post some pics up in here, or send me some pics to see how it'd turn out i'd definitely be interested. Not much better than saving $$

I think the main thing he's concern is whether or not he should start making a mold.. make a mold is not that easy and like he said, he would need to "rip them out of my car and rip the speaker out". So if he made the good quality mold already, he can just start selling it. and if not much people are interested, making a mold doesn't seem that worth it.

I'm definately interested... I'm having to return my Q-Forms back to crutchfield (no, i didn't cut em), because my MB Quart DSD 216's won't fit in em
ah well, i hope you go through w/ it, otherwise, i'm gonna have to really dig, because i'm not putting em in my doors after losing my infinity's that way..
so you got atleast 1 taker here, if i can fit the quarts in it
thanks

alrighty, so as of now i have 1 taker for a set, one taker for a basic mold, and a few people interested. lets see if i can get 1 or 2 more people in and ill get bangin.
as to finishes, i'd hesitate on the carbon fiber, its not all that easy, and i have none of the materials for it laying around, and, buying enough carbon fiber for 1 set is nonsense, and i have no use for carbon fiber, so verdict is, i can do fiber, but ill probably have to charge you a decent amount.
vinyl i can do, a black vinyl would probably look really good for you cars with the dark dark interiors.
i also have some carpet around my house that matches the stock carpet for the beige interiors. i used it when carpeting my rear deck.
once i get some people guaranteed we can discuss prices.

I would be very interested in a set for my car. I would like the reinforced ones in either black carpet or black vinyl, whichever is cheaper. But before I would buy, I need to do some research on this...haha. All I know is that it must improve imaging alot since it actually points at you, so I really wouldn't need to buy better rear speakers anymore I think.
But just count me in if this is going to improve my kicker resolution components alot without having to later spend money on rear speakers and a 4 channel amp. I would rather save the money by buying kick forms and a 2 channel amp, so that I can get a sub and mono amp someday earlier.
Also I already got my door drilled for the resolution tweeters because they were bigger than stock EX tweeters, so would you sell the kickforms without a hole to mount the tweeter?
