*HELP* Dash Angle Problems

This may have already been talked about but I have a Sony Xplod Head unit, and it has the All Black Panel, which is basically just one side that has one big display with numbers and stuff. With the angle of the dash on my 02 coupe pointing up, when I try to look at this side of the CD player, I can't see it during the day. At night its ok. Does anyone else have this same problem, and more importantly, is there a solution for this problem. Any good cd players that have good visuals that don't have the problem of glare on our dash???

There's really no way around that unless you have a deck with a faceplate that can change angles. . . . like SOME of the Sonys, etc.

I just went ahead and got a DVD + screen head unit. Problem solved.

what do you guys mean, "angles"?

i know what your talking about when you're saying you can't read your dash during the day...

and neonimpact:

its the same way for mine like 10%, and i got the white Organic EL Display face but i can really see that during the day time..

may not seem so, but its highly visible..
nice pic btw, but what do you mean organic el display?

i'm a bit lost.

the pioneer's with the organic display are probably the best for the angled civic dash, i have a premier deck, and it works great, can clearly see it day or night... organic EL is the 3d display of the pioneers

so far, pioneer OEL display, 1 fosgate unit, and clarion dxz 835mp are the only visible daylight decks.

Where is Chase Audio, the address? I am in Toronto as well. And were talking abouit the DEH P8400MP, I thought it wasa good eck for the car in terms of viewing it at angles.

Whats the deal on that $200 insert for the 8400? I'll pay a considerable amount of money to fix this god forsaken high mount, upward angle problem.. I love the deck but it simply was not made to be mounted so high.. What exactly did you get done for $200 that fixed it so well?

when you connect the radio to the dash kit there should be a spot to put a screw on each side to hold the radio in, just make that whole in the side of the dash kit a little higher so it tips the top of the radio down a bit . works llike a charm!

Damn. . . I'd love to, looks like a ton of fun.

Unfortunately, that's a few thousand miles for me, and I do have a party of sorts to attend in eastern Washington later in the week.

I just finished showing at Hot Import Nights - Seattle, and I must say that as nice as I have made my car, there is far more out there that is nicer. I have a ton of respect for a lot of the guys and gals who showed with me. . . . so many beautiful cars. As I have just started to show, this summer. . . I think I'll have to wait until next summer to even consider taking my car on the road to compete, elsewhere. I'll need at least a revamped ICE, motor swap, and hella body work to leave my state and hope to win a single trophy.

Would I attend? Perhaps, but I can't this year.

To stay on-topic, though. . . . for about $100 I'll bet an installer could custom-mount that Pioneer deck where your 12v plug is. . . just above the cupholders. Problem solved. . . . nowhere NEAR as much light down there, and no angle problems, either.
