Headunit install Q's.....
Have heard of soem techinical difficulties with the installation of an aftermarket headunit. I have a JVC Kamelion which I want to mount into the dash perfect. It is a beautiful head unit! I also heard that there are many probs with keeping the little door below the radio. I would like to keep it, unless it means sacrificing the sound quality of the unit (skipping due to instability). If it is going to skip a lot due to that...then F it....Any suggestions? I took it to a local stereo shop in my area and he quoted me $80 to do the unit & a 12 disc changer!
I want to do it myself. I have a freind that will help me. Is it hard? Where and which dash kit should I get?

Welcome to the world of basic install prices.
Remember, that price (if it was a grand total) should include the price of the dash kit and wiring harness. . . which is about $30 worth, right there.
Shouldn't be too hard if you're somewhat familiar. If you're not, I wouldn't recommend it.
Metra and Scosche both make dash kits and wire harnesses, as well as a couple other companies.

you can keep the pocket with the american international 2 piece kit that has no pocket, simply throw out the blank out panel, and use the pocket witht eh door that honda puts in there
