I'm gonna be buying an Alpine head unit, most likely either the cda-7995 or the cda-9815. Do you think it would be a good idea to get a equalizer or is it not really necessary? Does the alpine head units give you alot of options to fine tune the system?

I just read that the cda-9815 has a 5 band parametric EQ. Would that be good enough?

I have a cda-9813 which has basically the same functions... and i have so much control over my music i gaurantee you wont be needing a seperate eq

eq. are rarely needed unless u are dealing with really high amped and competition stlye set-ups. Or atleast thats what was told to me by one of the head installs men from a local shop in tampa. And it makes sense if u think about it. But he did say that it will make the set-up look really good! lol.....always looking out for the show-boaters...lol
