kicker amps

im just about to order my kicker l5 12" 1200 watts and i was wondering anyone knows how the Kicker 02KX1200.1 amp preforms i have never delt with kicker amps so i would not know.

btw while i was in san fransico my friends uncle has 1 cheap *** 10" kicker sub in a crap box with only 600 watts going to it and it sounded better than most peoples 2 12's i know alot of it had to do with the body style of the camaro but after that i want to know more about kicker.

also, i wouldnt put 1200 to an l5, thats the max rating i believe, 1200 would do fine on a l7 though.

l5 specs

Power Range RMS 600 Watts (300 watts per coil)
Peak Power Handling 1200 Watts

amp specs

300 Watts RMS x 1 @ 4 Ohms
600 Watts RMS x 1 @ 2 Ohms
1200 Watts RMS x 1 @ 1 Ohms
Stable at 1 Ohm

I've been running a KX700.5 for about 6months and have'nt had a bit of trouble. The new Line is coming out soon so, you can either pick up the one you mentioned cheap or take a look a kicker.com for the new ones. the new ones are very nice! FYI, these amps stink like hell the first time you heat'em up. it's normal, I've installed 4 including mine and they all did it!

I should mention that this is one of the better amps I've owned since High School. '91 grad!

That's what i thought

Yeah, and another thing I noticed is its very clean. Lives in the trunk, never overheats(built-in fan), never clips, & my headlight to blink..Yet! refer to my Alternator thread for more on that!

I've been very happy with this purchase. Paid full price@Sound Advice and got it covered for 3years!
