i need yer creativity

ive got an audiocontrol 2xs crossover as seen here:

and id like to mount it up front by my radio so i dont have to buy more rca cables.

so far ive gotten 3 suggestions

1 - chop out the cupholders and put it there (me)
2 - put it on the side of the same console by your legs (alex_053)
3 - glovebox (derek)

can anyone think of anything else?

Take out the center console, there might be room for it under the cig lighter assembly, in front of the air plenum for your feet underneath the console. There's quite a bit of room in there, I just dont know if the dimensions for the xover are small enough. You could also mount it on the top of the plastic peice that hides the steering shaft above the pedals on the drivers side.

In the kick panels, if they will fit. Look a little big maybe.

I think it would be cool in the glove box. I wish I would have put mine in there after the spring from the passenger side ripped one of my rca inputs completely out.

mold it into the dash above the radio (would require some vinyl work)

put it in that tray in the center console under the arm rest(the one with the door)

use the area where the cig lighter and tray is and make it a solid piece and mold it into there

All the ideas you listed seem to put it in view, why would you want to do that, its not something that is going to be adjusted all the time, its more of a set it and forget it kinda comoponent. And it sure isnt pretty enough to really show off. Save yourself some work and put it behind a panel, like the kick, the driver's knee bolster, or under the center console. Or, stop being cheap and put it in the trunk and buy a 10' pair of rca's to get wherever it needs to go.

you cna hide it behind your radio. out of sight, out of mind.

also youd need 1 foot RCA cables to go from radio to crossover, meaning you could buy SUPER high end cables, then since the X/O has a line driver, you could justify spending less on the output RCA cables.....

edit: 1 foot RCA's as opposed to like 3 foot or 9 foot rcas.....

Hey LudlamTheory, On that x over you have, how do you change the voltage output? If you have any info on the jumper placement let me know. Thanks

voltage output is the *****, frequency is the jumpers and resistor modules. cost less than 2 dollars per module to build yourself
