This brings up another question that i have.
Has anyone seen a grill for the triangle shaped Bazooka subs?
How about a custom made grill...any ideas on materials that are easy to find at a local hardware store/Lowe's/Home depot?
I have some speaker grill fabric, and I was considering just stretching it across the face of the sub and glueing it, but I'm wondering if the sub would hit it when thumping.

to make a grille, get you some of those bars for like hanging a athroom towel on and mount them over the sub, it'd be hard to find the diff sizes though to make them get smaller with the sub...
kicker grilles are decent too...

Where would you find these? I want to do something like this on my 2 JL box w/ subs. I think it'd look hot as fawk!! Maybe I'd get the bars powedercoated blue. that'd be tight...
yep, thats been done before, and looks alright, but hiding the side parts would be best, if you could, for that.
whats real real nice about doing that is you can get a pair of those bars, and they are long enough to cover the distance between a pair of woofers. it looks real sweet and elegant, till you see the sides, and realize it looks like what it is. a bathroom towel rack.
but cover up the sides, and it really does look awesome

Also, you could get Steel brake tubes from autozone, about 3/8" and bend them to the right lengths. Then, you cna tap the ends and screw them in. You can even polish it to a shine or paint them even easier.

Ok, I'm gonna go to WallyWorld and BigLots to see if I can find something that'll work. Check out these two pics and tell me which setup would look better or be more functional. I'm leaning toward #2, since it's more...uh...symmetrical or something.
I think some chrome paint, done carefully, would look good, right?

Well, a couple things to add about the bazooka box. I looked this weekend and didn't find a suitable "towel-rack" that could be used as a speaker grill. I did find a grab-handle that I thought might work, but it didn't. Argh!!
So, I looked again for something online and found this pic below at the CES show coverage at sounddomain. Looks like they have made some, even if it was only for the show. I've emailed them for info.
But in the meantime, I've come up with another idea that just involves putting speaker fabric on the box and stapling it on there. That part is done, so I'll finish it soon with some round trim to cover the fabric edge and staples. Paint it gloss or semi-gloss black and I believe it'll look almost like oem.
