ok.. right now im deciding whether it would sound better to have components up front and 3 way coaxials in the rear.. or just go with component seperates all around.. ive been getting a lot of responses from friends
and they say it would sound much more clean with components all around.. but i like having midrange in my music so this is really bugging me can someone please help?

If not, then I would go ahead and get components for the front and I think 3-way 6x9s in the rear would be nice. As for the brand, I have JL Audio XR components in the front with a Hifonics ZX6000 and that with my sub sounds nice, and even when I turn off my sub, the mid-bass is goodfor this component set. I now have my sub shaking my rear view mirror and my JL Mids shaking my side mirrors. I have been heard that the boston acoustic 3-way 6x9s are really nice when run off a good amplifier and it almost sounds like a small sub. You should consider those for the rear if you are willing to spend the money. Hope this helps.

where would you put the tweeters for the rear components. personally, I would go ahead and save teh money from the rear speakers and invest it into even better components, or if youre already getting great components, why not some kickpanels to further enhance the components
Stereo sound is recorded for 2 speakers. Spend the $ from 4 speakers on 2. If powered and imaged properly, a strong front stage and a single sub can be unreal.
I have run similar setups in other cars i've had with 2 and 3 piece component sets, and instead of your friends being able to tell that you have front AND rear speakers, they will just hear that you HAVE speakers, not where or how many.
Alpine's 9815 can be bi-wired. Internal crossovers can be set up to run a set of tweets off the front L and R, with a set of mids off the rear L and R, while all 4 are in the front. Done right, it delivers 240 clean watts to a single set of component speakers! Quite possibly this years best all around head unit, in my opinon.

It should be mentioned that 240 watts of power is peak, not RMS. You'll only get about 15 or so watts per channel on that HU. So in reality you'll only have 30 watts per side. That would make your stock speakers sound pretty good (for stock speakers) however not nearly enough power for a good set of components.
If you knew that head unit you'd know it had 27 RMS per channel @ 0.08 % THD. 108 RMS is fine for a set of components. Yes, an amp with more would be nice but in our cars, we really can't afford extra weight if you want to go faster.

27 rms per channel maybe at full and utter blast, but youve gotta factor in distortion. that .08 is most likely out of the preamp outputs, and not out of the tiny little mosfets. not to mention all of the other possible sources for distortion. regardless, what im trying to say is that youll never get 108 rm out of that headunit and like how it sounds.
