The best mods you can do quickly
Anchor, your right! Where'd you get those Altezzas! Most I've seen have a larger red lens on the lower outside... Anyway, sorry for the vague initial post. I'm talking a bit about both: 'enhanced' performance (air filter, and light suspension work) and appearance. I used to have an SRI on my Z24 (got rid of the car) and noticed greater throttle response and I think a bit more power (or was that a bit more hot air?). Anyway, because I was leasing was afraid to do slightly more serious mods like exhaust. Hey folks, give me the low-down... if the non-VTEC is a mostly show, little go machine, then that's fine. Then, maybe you've got some great appearance upgrades to suggest. But I'm still curious about CAI vs. SRI vs. drop-in. I'm also curious about OEM body colour Altezzas and carbon-fiber Altezzas -- do they exist? Also, are 18s the bare minimum on a 4dr? What about who's making the best tires for the money (I hear Kumho has a high value for your dollar).

intake should be the first, tint if you dont have it yet, remove those emblems from the back of your car, new headlights, lower your car with springs, muffer or a full catback if you can.

Neuspeed Sport Springs. They lower the car and make it lok more aggressive, plus they give you MUCH better stability around corners. Probably my favorite mod so far & I have a 2k1 LX 4-Door ..
Take a look at my ride to see what I've got ...
Here's what I suggest:
- Exterior -
Rims, Lowering Springs, & a body kit if you can afford it
- Interior -
Painted the trim (HU, side vents etc ...)
- Engine -
Intake, Header, Exhaust
- Other -
Painted pieces under hood, brake calipers, things like that. It's all about the details ...

muffler, springs, I call this RICE!!
I have a 4dr LX 5spd, and I've had some cheap, along with all the expensive, fun with modifications:
1. remove pin stripes if you've got 'em.
2. remove those rear badges.
3. get yourself an altezza style grill, get the lip painted to match car.
4. while you're painting your grill, get 'em to paint your front and rear
chrome trim pieces. you'll need to sand and prime them first.
5. cut down your factory shifter, get some new solid-type bushings
for it, and get yourself a short-shift adaptor.
6. take car of of those headlights by clearing them
7. pick a bar, any bar: front, rear, upper, lower whatever. for a day or two you'll swear your car feels completely different. ha!
you're on your way!

hey mig what did you do about those holes at the side of the door when you removed the pinstripes? i removed mine a while back but there was these holes that hold the clips in (for sedan) and decided to just put them back on.

For me, the Eibach/Koni set-up has had the most dramatic effect so far.
I think your best bet is to go with springs/shocks/struts first (if you have the $$$). I have all the bars, plus the Progress sway bars f&r, and while it makes a difference, probably not as big a difference as the springs/shocks would have. I'm waiting for the H&R Cup Kit to come out. To me adjustable coilovers are overkill - how many times are you really going to adjust your suspension up and down then go get another alignment job - who has the time.
Go for the Cold Air intake. It took me while to figure out, but it's hella cool once installed. It took about two hours, but that's only because I'm still learning. I'm sure I coulld install another one within half that time. Adds power... looks good...changes the tone of the revs...overall, great mod.

DIY = Do it yourself
SRI = Short Ram Intake...an intake that stays inside the engine bay
Rice =

BTW you could build your own intake, but there is a great price on AEM intakes in the group buy forum right now. I would suggest buying one over making one.
