header = deeper?

I've heard that headers give your car a deeper sound. I have the exhaust and the intake, how much deeper would my car sound if I got headers installed? Is it a noticable difference?

i have a DC header CAI and catback. when i put in my header, there isn't a sound difference. well at least not for my car. but if you are getting a header, DO NOT GET DC. the size of DC header is all most same as stock. just a little gain in horse may be 1or2 (BTW i have EX) From what i heard, HP is the best, but i am not 100% sure. since i have the DC. keep ask around and i think most people will suggest HP. hope this help

did all of you have to shave off part of your motor mount to install the HP racing header??? I am debating on whether I should get that and shave it off.....or just get some kind of shorty header (not DC) and hook a downpipe up with that??? by the way I have an ex coupe.

on my hp`s, i didnt shave my motor mount, because i dont plan on keeping my headers for ever and 2 because its a krazy i deal to cut a motor mount, so i just used a hammer and bent the pipe just enought to clear the mount, it was hard cuz the pipes are hard as hell, dont realy think it hendered my performance, but if you want pics halla at me....

the answer is yes, i have the hp header and a high flow cat, my car was so freaking loud and annoying, even at idle it rummbled, now that i put a resonator, i can really hear my exhaust anymore, i only hear my intake now.

Hondaluver: Isn't the hi-flow cat the same thing as a resonator?

I have the DC sports header on my car. There is no change in the sound. I called up DC to see how much of a difference in power it made and they said 5hp to the wheels. I also did noticed an improve in .2 sec of the 1/4 time.

A whole .2 sec?? Doesn't seem worth it to me. And DC saying it adds 5 hp is a nice way of saying it won't do crap cuz' it's the same size as stock and so many peeps on here are saying it's worthless. But whatever. Getting my HP full race header w/ hi-flow cat tomorrow. Can't wait.

nope, well kinda, but he is talking about another resonator, the one that sits right before the muffler section on our cars.

ah ha. I see. Well, cuz' I'm gettin' my HP header w/ hi-flow cat tomorrow and the dude said it's more of a resonator than a hi-flow cat. So I got confused. Already have a complete cat-back installed. so what's the difference between the 2 resonators?

I wouldn't pay $225+ for a brand new one but I got it for $120 shipped which I thought was a good deal. I don't see how it's worthless if it improve my 1/4 time. sure it's not a lot but isn't that the point of the header is to improve the 1/4 time or give more performance? I planning getting a downpipe soon so the set up will be better.

You're right. Guess it just depends how much you get it for. And if you like it, then nice deal. I just know peeps are always bashing the DC on here. I saw one on the FS threads going for around $150, did my research and passed on it. Glad too, cuz' a better deal came along.
