v6 Accord engine in 02 civic coupe?
Anybody heard of this being done. not sure of what mods and performance parts are available for this engine (dunno which one, the most powerful one) anybody think it would fit, may not be the best idea it the world but it is different... what you guys think?
Don't think you would be able to fit it w/ o spending enough to buy a new V6 Accord (much better option)
The motor will be too big to even fit in the engine bay w/ custom mounts. You will need to extend the engine bay size by eating into the firewall/ making the nose longer..
You will need axle changes, tranny changes, body work etc to get it running.
Then it will handle like driving an old school 911 backwards- severe understeer & totally messed up handling. But i guess that's OK if it is going to be for drag racing.
Too much hassle. I wouldn't do this. Don't think you should either..

Da2K1, how do you know there would be all those handling problems? I'm not challenging your statement, I'm just curious how engine affects handling. Is it because of the weight?
What if you removed the back seats and put the engine in the rear? A mid-engine 240hp civic would own you.

I would not get owned by a mid- engine civic like u'r talking about in a road- race. Unless you have custom suspension & brake work also; even if the F/R weight balance is changed to a near- ideal 50/ 50, the added weight & change in distribution from stock will need custom springs & dampers to compensate. The brake bias will also need to be changed from stock (i doubt the rear drums would be up to the task, either) The tuning work alone to set up these items will run you bankrupt & you'll need to find a good shop to do it (like maybe the Ferrari F1 team?)
However, give me the same budget & my 'vic, i'll trade it in & Mod a used SupraTT & own y
ou, either on a drag stip or on a road course!!!

Or you could just use a 95 Accord and get a K-1 Attack.
