Autolock?

ok im just wondering if anyone has one of these, do they work nicely?
anyways.. for the ppl that dont know the autolockis simalar to the club
its another theft deterant device, basically how it works is it prevents the brake from being depressed, it also works for the clutch pedal too, now we all know about the shiftlock system and how that prevents the car from being put into gear without pressing the brakes

and the car cant be started without pressing the clutch on the manual cars.. now im sure it works, but what are ur impressions on it? does it look/feel cheap?

www.unbreakable.com

now they are selling these for $60 or so... im thinking about getting one...

If they want to steal your car, they will. As for the Autolock, the Autolock X is a nice looking piece of crap, ..

But if I were a thief, and saw one of those, I'd just call in a flatbed and tow that bitch away, and then part it out - leaving the brake-pedal intact.

Worthless IMHO.

like 'blk' said...if they want it, they will get it...professionals will take whatever they want like exotics(not a civic) but it keeps the 'joyriders' away

the Club is better. At least the Club is in plain site (for non-tinted/not-too-dark-tinited cars).

A thief may have a whole lot more in his mind (such as 'is the coast clear'), before he even notices that there's an Autolock down below. At this time he would have already broken into your car. Assuming that he is not very determined, if the theif is aiming to take the car, then he'll leave Club'ed cars alone. If you only have an Autolock, hecould break in before he notices the theft device down below.

Just by that the club, 3 alarms, and every other theft deterent ou there on your car and no intelligent theif would waste his time on your car.

better yet, put a compressor in your trunk and setup an air horn to go off with your security alarm, i'm pretty sure they wont' be able to sneak away with that going off

JCiv03 is on a distinguished road
i have an autolock. i got it from walmart for like 30. anyways... i have a 03 5spd lx, and it doesnt really fit too good on the clutch. part of the clutch is too thick (on the metal bar of the clutch petal) to fit the autolock on. so now instead of using it on the clutch, i use it on the break petal. u can put it on the clutch, but it is troublesome and kinda stratches the metal bar of the clutch petal. i feel that would serve me better if it was able to fit the clutch better.... but o well. overall, i reccomend it.

Except that any kid with a hacksaw can cut through your steering wheel in about 45 seconds. When I was younger I used to break into cars, steal the radio. Then just for fun I would take the club off and leave it on the seat.

Like many have said, not much is going to stop a profesional..but it should stop joyriders. Or inexperienced thieves.

As far Falken saying professionals go after exotics and not civics...that’s just not true. Thieves steal for parts to sell. There isn’t a huge market for used Lamborghini alternators. There IS however a very large market for Civic parts.

that's why i mentioned a 'not very determined' theif. Of course a pro crook who really has his eye out for a whole car, will take it.

Who here would get suspicious if they saw a kid walking around with a hacksaw? No offense, but your neighborhood must have sucked because you made it suck to live there (in your stealing days).

well thats what i was planning on doing before i start doing major mods...
i mean if i had a ferarri horn setup to to the alarm.. it would be better so i could hear it for blocks...
as for camera lots... my security friend recommends that u have ur lights flash when ur alarm goes off.. but that goes without saying.. because ppl inside the building cant hear ur alarm... but they can see lights flashing

I thought that autolock looked pretty good. I was thinking about getting it.

For now I'll just keep my car in the garage at night

My car is never parked in the street after dark

The first night I left it out over night they tried to take my rims

1. If your going to hate me...then don't apologize
2. I seen a mechanism that gets by all locks/alarms/devices...it's called a tow truck. You get get past anything givin enough time. My whole point was the club takes 45 seconds to saw off with a simple SMALL cheap hacksaw.
3. I hate people like you...that put in 2 cents when they only have a nickels worth of info. And I'm not sorry.

and just for the record... I dont steal any longer. I just do other stupid things like drive too fast.
