What the heck is it? (S2K question)

This is buggin me because I can't figure out what it is... sorry I can't link a pic from work...
If you look through the front lower grill of the S2000, in front of the radiator there is a canister about the size of a soup can... what the hell is it for? My guess is it's some kind of water spray system for the radiator, but no one can tell me for sure. Anyone?

if its what i'm thinking of, does it look like the thing circled in my picture below, thats of my doner RSX, and i have no idea what it is. Just curious if its the same thing.

The only thing that I could find on http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com was that it might be a VALVE ASSY., PURGE CONTROL SOLENOID

ive heard rumors floating around that it actually is a soup can, feeds the warm hardy goodness of campbells thick tomato soup to the engine giving it a reason to live, its mmmm mmmm good.
