Chroming Plastic Car Parts

I really want to chrome the surround on my RS front grill to match the chrome trim on the hood instead of painting it. Any ideas how or where to get it done?

there are some brands that produce 'chrome' paint. On the cap of the spray can, it is color chrome. But when you use it, the color is really just a shiny silver. I have never found a real chrome spray paint.

But I have seen it in small paint cans at some car shops. I never asked where they got the cans (because I forget to). I would ask around at supply stores, like home depot, or even car stores. I've searched around those places, but the best I could get was the shiny silver, not the 'mirror-like' chrome even when the cap was color 'chrome'.

There are stores also specializing in just paint. I've been to a few around my town. If anyone should know, it would be them.

Look up 'paint' in the yellow pages of a fat book. There should be some ads there. The phone book is not obsolete, yet. It can be good help if you use it too.

Nup! Not the first. Have seen another one running around Bangkok in Thailand. It looked good and the chrome matched the hood trim. It also blended in well with the lights.

I've seen chroming done on steel, but I dunno how they do it on plastic. Maybe some toy company could do it.

I think that's just paint for plastic and not actually Chrome platting as in dipping.
