New filter for intake...
I have an Injen RD CAI on my car.... It is not near as loud on my car as some others I think it is possibly due to the fact of the heat shield I am using to protect it from geting wet. Somone said I can try to replace the filter and see if that makes a diffrence... So what do you guys recommend?

leave it. you wont notice any difference in performance. You will probably not notice any diff in sound either. Loud does not = power.
I switched from a k&n cotton filter, to a blitz metal mesh filter, no cotton, and its much louder (hense more air flow) and it seemed to give it a better responce to mashing down the gas,
if you like ill even do sound video clips of the diff,
if you like ill even do sound video clips of the diff,

id have to move my comp and web cam outside/garage, that would have to wait till the weekend, but just think about it, it has more air flow going into the intake with a mesh filter, then something that has mesh and cotton, common sence

what SRI do you have? Right now I just have the stock injen filter on it whatever that is.. i think i might try removing my heat shield and see if it gets louder and more powerful. I still just dont get how mine is quite compaired to the one i did in an auto.
its a obx sri intake tube, but the filters are k&n, blitz
the heat shield shouldnt make a diff, might try it, also were the intakes the same, brand, etc, and were the filters in the same area?

the HS isnt going to change the sound at all, the filter is still the same, and you would still get the same sucking sound, but you prob would lose some hp with out it, iv never used a HS so i dont know

Keep in my the heat shield isnt keeping heat away.. its keeping water from jumping into the filter. They were both the same intake on the cars with some minor diffrences in this years model like an extra bolt to keep it steady.
hey i have the exact same intake and i was thinking about getting that k&n filter too. Also take off the heat shield because our filter is very well protected and a little water doesn't hurt it and it doesn't really help with performance anyway. If your worried about water do what i did get an aem bypass valve and just leave it on the pipe right above where the two peices connect and when it rains just slide it down and tightnen it. takes all of 5 mins and no power loss

yeah that aem bypass valve fits, but there is three different sizes it comes in and the one u want is the 3.75 one, i think. Read the instruction manual that came in the injen box and it tell you the diameter of the piping that way you'll kno which size valve to get.
