Quick DC Header ???
Now i kno that the dc header may not put out the best power or cost the least amount of money but i'm sort of leaning toward it because i understand that they it doesn'treplace the cat converter, is this true? If there is another good header out on the market that doesn't replace the cat converter can someone please tell me? I just don't want to spend to much money on something if i can get a better product and still be able to pass strick emmissions testing everytime i get an inspection. help is appreciated

A recent dyno showed that the DC header gave ".6" hp gains. Yes that is a 'point" before the six!!!

hey .6 is better than nothing.
course do you want to spend $200 for .6? at some variable powerband?
dont bother to get an aftermarket header... IMO, there aren't any good ones out there. not even the HP racing... why? cuz that one is the exact same design as the one use on previous gen D16 engines... some R&D. (hence it not fitting...)
unless you can get a good price on the DC Sports.. dont bother. it may help after some more mods on the engine besides bolt-ons.. but if you're just going for I/H/E... just skip the H.
there's an alternative to DC though... the OBX one replicates it exactly.. and its a lot cheaper.
there's er.. about 3 designs that I know of.
the ones that the generic companies use... HP, Aerospeed, Megan...
and then DC, OBX
and then HP's 4-1 highflow cat one..
I dont know what HP's top portion header looks like... nor do I know what Kamikaze looks like.

I have the dc sports header on my ride. i can not notice any power gains, but it looks and sounds great. i think it is worth it if you have to pass emmissions, but if you dont, go for the hp or kamakaze race header with

Do you have strict emissions standards in TX? I have the DC sports header but I am looking into getting a hi-flow cat in the future. I know it does void the warranty too but it is really good to open up the airflow which = faster. I am NY and emissions-wise there are no standards. DC sports is a good option, I am happy w/ mine.

would it really be a big deal to change cats back and forth when you get an inspection, that is if you can use a lift and tools and stuff? Also does anyone kno about the arospeed header? does it use the oem cat and is it a good product?
