What are our legal header options?
The HP and Kamikaze seem like they're awesome, but I keep hearing mixed things about whether or not they are legal. I'm sure the DC ones are legal, but I've heard they suck.
So, which headers are legal, and which ones have the best performance?
Thanks,

Here you go
Kamikaze will never be street legal because it has no cat.
HP is not street legal also but some places don't need emission tests, so you may be ok and pass the visual inspection.
Best performance and legal can't not be put together for the 7gen civic. The only header that is legal is DC sports and thats it.
Your best bet is get dc sports header and replace your car with random technology high flow cat. That setup will be street legal.

i think dc does make a staainless, but i could be wrong. I have the ceramic on my car....i cant really tell any power difference, but it does look and sound good. if i had the time and money to do it over again i would go with the hp or kamikaze.

you people removing your cats... your cars sound like pissed off bee's ..... im sorry, but do an engine swap or something besides taking off your cat for "better performance" because you can hear your car for miles.. and the guy down the street got pulled over not once. but 3 times for noise pol. for having his cat removed on his ex 7th gen civic, im glad i got a hatch!

Don't HP or Kamikaze make a top section only or something that is legal cuz it goes with the stock cat?

How much is this RT high flow cat? It doesn't sound like crap, does it? How much hp could I expect from it? Where could I get it?

My car isnt loud at all, and i have no cat, never been asked about it when iv been pulled over, and it doesnt sound like pissed off bee's, if you want id be more then willing to post a sound clip to prove you wrong
DC does make stainless steel headers, and they claim it adds 4hp to the wheels. I didn't notice that, but the craftmanship is excellent. I bought it from www.first-1.com. At the time of my research they had the best prices on stainless steel DC headers, 299 bucks.

isn't true the DC cermaic one holds more heat and adds more hp then the stainless steel one but the staniless steel will last longer is that true?

ceramic is supposely better for heat but can get eaten away by salt after awhile. I drive my car in the winter and I dont want to worry about holes in my pipes after awhile. Plus Stainless looks so much better.
Yes , stainless steel headers are more durable, and , if you get a crack one day, stainless steel will be easier to fix than ceramic....I don't know about the look though, after a while, my stainless steel header became kind of dark brown-grey(whatever that color is).Probably the matter of preference.

I don't care what color it is. I want parts for performance, not so it looks cool under my hood.
Back to my other question, doesn't HP or Kamikaze make a top portion to the header that uses the stock cat that would be legal?
Back to my other question, how much gain would you get from the random technology high flow cat?
Thanks,

If you only use the top portion of Kam or Hp header. It is street legal but not emission legal. It all depend on your area. Does your area require emission test? If no you should't be worry. The best HP gain is either eliminate the stock cat or use a highflow cat instead.
Like I said b4, street legal and performance don't mix for our cars. If you really care about street legal and gain as much hp as you can, try the dc and rt one. Only way to go but expensive. You can try to net to see if anywhere else sell the RT cat.
i have dc sport header, no cat and 2 1/4 inch pipe of the header to a dual tsudo setup. you wanna talk about loud. my dad hurd me 3 miles away. and i drown out 18 wheelers leaving the redlight. never got pulled over for it but the neighbors hate me
