I have the K&N FIPK(short ram intake with heatshield) and have no exhaust yet. If it isn't raining tomorrow I can make a small clip for you to listen. Stay tune!

Here are 2 clips I record this afternoon. The sound of my K&N FIPK should be very similar to other short ram intake. I hope it helps! Sorry about the background noise(record it with crappy digital camera)

Close by the filter

Inside car with windows down and hood closed

Click Here someone is selling it

If you wonder the intake will work on both LX/EX/DX auto/5speeds

Intakes have a more powerful sound when you floor it in the higher rpm's but are not that noticeable that much when driving regularly.

I had the Injen SRI and I now have a K&N FIPK II and the sound of the Injen is alot bether IMO. The Injen sounds like the K&N but its a lot, a lot more deap and loud.

Riiiiiiight lease:
The K&N FIPK is nice. I think all shortram intakes will give you the same, throaty sound but as far as I know, the K&N gives off a hissing sound that sounds like a turbo. I love it. And performance gains are noticable IMO.

If you just want to get an intake for sound I suggest to go with the Injen SRI. Like I said I had the Injen SRI and now have the K&N FIPK II and the I like the sound of the Injen a lot better.

BTW The Injen will also give you a hissing sound. I think all the intakes for this car will give you that sound.

I notice a diff when going above 4k rpm and the sound is sweet too. If you want sound you should consider AEM sri because the price is the cheapest and make sure you know sri is for auto and cai is made for 5speeds. The K&N FIPK I got through a group buy for about 180 shipped. It came with a recharger for the filter and heat shield to block off heat.

Click for cheap AEM sri and be sure you pick the one for your trim (dx, lx or ex) because I heard the tube b/t LX and EX is constructed differently.

Lastly you need to get the Do It Yourself Instruction and enjoy

Let us know how you like your new mod once you get it. And good luck on the install!

I had AEM SRI and FIPK. I think the AEM is louder and a little deeper sound.

Well AEM tested the CAI gives more power on 5speeds than the SRI. Is your choice.
