Getting an AEM Version 2 Intake
Hello Everyone, I'm new to the forum circuit and this is acually my first post ever anywhere, so please be gentle. :-) I've been reading this site for weeks and I must say you all are a great group of people. I'm happy to be in the fold. On to the good stuff... I got an 03 Civic EX in February and I'm loving it. It was the first brand new car I'd ever bought so I was pretty stoked about getting it. Anyway, I've got an AEM V2 intake on preorder and I was wondering if anyone out there would be interested in how it ends up performing once I get it slapped it in?

welcome to the site, as far as the performance good choice, IMO AEM is the best way to go. Its a great system you wont be dissappointed with your purchase. BUt let me know from someone who has had a chance to drive with it. I have the CAI V1 so anxious to figure what the real difference is.

Runner... I called Monday because my order hadn't been filled yet, and they said that AEM will be releasing it sometime this next week. So I'm guessing I'll receive it the week after next. I'm going to install it the first weekend after I get it, so look for a real update in about two weeks time.

I would not get the V2 if I were you. Dyno results show that the V1 still gives our cars more power than the new "gimmick" version. The V2 is a waste of money. But AEM is still great.

Fly... I took that into consideration, but according to the dynos that I've seen from different websites, I'll take a little more HP across the board then all of it in one spot on the RPM band. I mean, I don't plan on racing my car, I just enjoy tinkering. My goal is to have a nice looking ride with just a little more under the hood then your average commuter. I do agree with you though that a V1 would be better if I really wanted extra boost in the 7 grand RPM range. Just didn't want you all to think I don't do my homework. :-)

I saw the thread for the V2 intake on the 200o si and saw it was lower, but the way they did the dyno, was different then AEMs and they siad they have spent a lot of time in money into this product, with the physics of it and so forth? so do you really think that the V2 will not be better then the V1 that is why i have held off to not by the v1 if the v2 is better.

I think that if it turned out the V2 was worse, they'd still sell it anyways to potentially recoup some of the losses. I've seen the numbers and the V2 does appear to put out less HP than the V1, but I haven't seen an actual dyno chart that compares the two. Then you could determine which one would be better across the whole RPM range. ANYWAY, I want these god damn things to finally come out to put all this bullshit to rest...

Called AEM to see if they've released the V2 yet. They said it was going to be the end of the month. . . Maybe. Grrrr. "But I want it NOW!" *in my best 6 year old whiny voice*

Somebody lock this sh*t. This has been discussed to many times and its getting annoying. Nobody post anything else about the frigging AEM V2 until the stupid thing is finally released and you actually have it. For the love of god leave it alone already.
