i've heard that the plasma booster are useless for our cars because the stock ones are sufficient enough. besides you really dont need to change these and they cost way too much, so save your money.

I too have also heard that the stock ones are more than adequate.
I have heard of people having dead plasma booster coils.
400 bucks is kinda pricey for re-built coils with a blinking LED on top.

You can go to the parts section I added it awhile back or go to ignition solutions web site. It shows dyno graphs comparing stock and aftermarket.Ignition solutions - plasma coil
Also I beleive that the onl way to modify the 7thgen civic ignition system is the way that these guys are doing it with the ignition coils. That is what I have read anyway.

your right since our cars are using the "direct fire" ignition this is the only way your gonna get anyhting and just so you know they are worth the money. They provide better acceleration, gas milage, quicker torgue rise and a smooth revving engine

MSD will never come out with something for our cars since we have distribtorless
igntions.
Plasma boosters are useles. In fact, more people have complained about the upgraded coil failing and having to return them to Igntion solutions than they have
said that they noticed an increase in throttle response.
Pay me 400 bucks and I will point you in the direction on how to do the DIY for the throttle cble adjustment.
This will give you the same effect.

save your $$. Buy Denso Iridium plugs. They require less voltage to fire which is equivalent to boosting the voltage applied to the plugs (which is all the plasma booster does) I've posted more info on a cople of links (NGK vs Denso thread started by Dr5D

I Had the coils... I say HAD because I dont have them on my car any more
Sadly I think one of them is defective, Every time I put them on my car runs like a lawn mower and the CEL comes on. However I do miss the performance they gave me, when they worked properly with out giveing the CEL. Actually it was blinking which must have meant something bad. I've been trying to email them from the website to see about getting them fixed but I'll have to call them to find out. I was one of the first people to get them so maybe they've made improvement to them. They better hook me up with a new set for what they cost me!!!

Ill take cash or money order.
All that being said, it really is this simple.
If your current ignition set up is working without you experiencing knocking and pinging or various other forms/signs of detonation, then it’s doing its job adequately and does not need to be upgraded. On top of that, you would not experience any performance gains through upgrading an already adequate ignition system. If its igniting your air/fuel mixture without detonation, it’s already doing as good as job as physically possible.
Claims of Hp gains sand better MPG can either be contributed to the "I paid 400 bucks for this" placebo effect, cars running mods which would REQUIRE an upgraded ignition such a turbo or what not, or just plain advertising BS.
BTW, changing your spark plugs, unless they need to be changed, NO MATTER WHAT THEY ARE MADE OF, isn’t going to do jack squat but waste your money.
Platinum, & iridium plugs ONLY last longer then conventional plugs. Is that worth 4X the cost? I think not.

My set of Denso Iridiums was a whole $12, and they did improve the way my car idles. They were put in at 8000 miles and made a difference then. Still today they are purring along and I have seen other civics with stock plugs idling rough as hell.
