AEM vs Injen
AEM vs Injen
Hi, I want to know which intake system is better AEM or Injen? I've heard good about both, but me and my best bud are in a debate over which one is the better product. Anyone have some opinions, throw them out to me.
this is a very touchy subject....it has been talked about for a while
there pretty similiar both cai and sri....
all the AEM owners will say good things about AEM
and vice versa with Injen owners...
IMO, both dont produce much hp anyways so it doesnt matter really
just looks and a little sound difference

lol.
all these without any reasons.
I'll go with Injen for a CAI thats more cold air...
they extend the pipping all the way to the bumper area, where traditionally its where CAIs have been at.
the AEM is somewhat still in the engine bay though... albeit its a cooler location than where a SRI is at.
both are a hassle to install. AEM's requires you to take out a certain bracket and mount another one on... and sometimes people break their tranny cable bracket it wasn't fitted on correctly...
as for InJen, you gotta take out the bumper or have it spaced out a bit to fit on the filter.
oh yeah, InJen's fit both automatic and manual transmission.
AEM's excuse of a SRI works best on an automatic is pretty stupid IMO.

FOR the true answer of which is better, get a dyno of both, and calculate the area under the rpm range that you will be driving around in, whichever one has a greater area is better. The reason for this is, the area under the curve is a representation of the amount of energy your car is putting out. SO more energy, means more power, means better. DONE!

I have had and AEM CAI and I swithced to the K & N FIPK II and noticed results at the 1/4 mile track.
The CAI piping would get pretty hot to the tuch due to radiant engine temperature heat.
The K& N FIPK II is bmade of a thick composite plastice and does not get warm.. It also gave me more better low end torque and my top end was not sacrificed.
Good luck on you decision

AEM SRI - around $100, great sound, no performance gain.
AEM CAI - no such thing for automatic transmission
INJEN CAI - around $200, not as loud as AEM SRI, but people say they can feel a tiny boost.
I guess it depends on what you're looking for and MAYBE your transmission?
