Roll Cage
I have yet to see someone with a roll cage in their car. Anyone got one or have suggestions on what brand to get?

Well I hear that with 4 point harness systems you should have a roll cage because........if the car flips, the harness will not allow your head to move forward out of the way of the crushing roof. A roll cage will prevent the roof from collapsing.

Im not trying to be a jerk or anything, but if you roll ur 7th gen civic ur roof will not collapse, go look at all the pictures i think about 8 members on this site have rolled there cars, none of there roofs have collaped. Also if you get 4 points, you can use the floor brace that they sell on ebay for like 35 bucks and attach the shoulder harnesses to that.

Maybe he wants to put a rollcage in the 7th gen for the same reason someone wants to put a roof scoop on a 7th gen........

i know he has a roof scoop........that is exactly why i said it........i figured you were just putting in the rollcage for the look.........which is basically why he put the roofscoop on....for the look.......i figured you were doing it for the same reason...........make sense to you now. If you are getting one so you don't die.........thats a different story.......i know alot of people who get rollcages for show purposes.....they do look cool.....

Well with the harness, it holds you in tight and doesn't let you lean forward like the stock seatbelt. If you roll the car, you stock belt allows your head to move forward and down out of the way of the crushing roof. With a roll bar, it will stop the roof from crushing on top of your head. This way I can have the harness without worrying about landing on my head.

Thats not the floor bar that i was refering to, i have seen them on ebay and was considering getting one, but i was going to get 4 points after a few other mods. They are simular though, they go across just like that, and you can bolt them in or have them welded in for a few bucks, however most the one si have seen have been somewhat straight.

I remember seeing a roll cage on eBay awhile ago, I was thinking about it, but it sounded like too much trouble with the welding and stuff... I dont know how Id flip my car anyways

That thing on ebay is a floor brace, which is kinda like getting another strut bar for the middle of the car. It goes across the back floor and is basically pinned between the two sides of the car to help stop chassis flex like front and rear strut bars. I think you would have some trouble getting it to really help your suspension. The reason that bar is bent is to go over the hump that is on the floor of the rear seats in older civics. I dont think you would want a bent bar period and really not for our cars..lol.

something like that might work..but i bet that s**t is a pain to install correctly. you are goin to have to bolt in something really secure (frame i guess) and the stock seat belts bolt down there. Maybe if you could use the factory seat belt bolts and the ran both harnesses to the brace. I dont know but be very careful because the bar needs to hold you in place in a high impact wreck. I dont know any facts though so do some good research and be sure you and tug your hardest on your finished product
