I have it....
Yes.... I was going to transcrib it, but this will be easier..... Lol greatcasa, I was posting that at first and would type it out...
Enjoy!
Test model 6th gen civic ex...
As WHP...
Base HP: 106.8
AEM CAI: 108.3, Gain of 1.5
V2: 112.4, Gain of 4.1 over CAI
Total V2 Gain: 5.5WHP
I must mention the WHP curve is qiute nice, it strides steadily upward over the CAI.
____________
The torque graph is wierd dude... it's better than stock but from 3.8-about 4.75 or 4.8 the tq curve suffers a bit, staying steady at 3 tq until closing qiuckly at 4.75rpms on the original CAI.
Seeing as how I think that the 3.8-4.8 area is more about hp at that point, this might not even matter, but stays strong during the other rpm times...
Last paragraph is as follows.....
"On the Dynojet, our Civic EX baselined at 106-8hp and 93.8 lbs-ft of torque. With the CAI in place, peak power scooted at 108.3 and tq. followed siut, but an odd hump in the curve threw off the peak readout. With the V2 installed, power was up noticeably throughout the curve with enhanced power production noted from 6000 rpm to the end of the pull. Peak HP checked in at 112.4 and the torque surve was up as well, and the engine seemed to hang onto its torque output better at the top-end."

Thanks CGodwin3103. Finally some proof that the V2 is better than the CAI and better than just 1 hp. Those are some signfigant gains, especially when the regular CAI only brought about a 1.5 hp gain. Thanks for posting the results. I'm sure others will be happy to see this as well.
Those are some nice gains, especially at the wheels. I might have to consider that intake, either that or a K&N FIPK....hmmmm, decisions... what to buy with my tax return money....
I wonder... how different will installation be with the V2 since its much bigger in diameter?

With FIPK you can install it within an hour or 2. It is simple install because it is a short ram intake with heatshield. Another good thing is you will never worry about flooding and puddles.
With V2 you probably need even more time to install it because you need to take off the bumper to install it right. Because of that you also need to take off the bumper to take off the filter for cleaning. You may also worry about flooding and big puddles. Gain may be a little better but not worth it for me. I also bet the filter sit near the hot transmission and will suck in a lot of heat. Just my guess correct me if I am wrong.
My car is a daily driver and I travel a lot with it, so I chose FIPK over CAI/V2. I also felt some improvement with the FIPK. Thats good enough. Remember our cars are not sport car or like the older gen one. Gain will not be big for us.
I hope that help!

Yeah, I keep leaning towards the K&N, but...... I just found the V2 on tornactive.com for $255, seems like a good deal. I think the K&N is around $230, so price isn't the issue. Mmm... I'm starting to lean more towards the V2... oh no!.... I'm starting to tip over... I'm falling!!! Ahhh!!! I fell right on top of the V2! I guess I'll have to buy it now.
Anyway, so the V2 goes behind the front bumper, like the Injen CAI, but not like the old AEM which is still in the engine bay right? I'm not worried about flooding since I don't drive thourgh lakes, but I still like the K&N... awwww crap. I don't know anymore.

Hey, thanks, you might've saved me $35... that's even better, now its cheaper than the K&N... well I might have to get it. Oh yeah, 5.5whp!!! Oh yeah!!
So no taking off any bumpers, thats good. Assuming it mounts very similar to the old AEM CAI... so it still needs the mounting bracket on the transmission mount... no biggie, the DIY I read was just confusing. Anyway I'm just assuming, and you know what happes when you assume.... ***(out of)u(and)me..
So greatcasa, are you getting a V2? BTW...What about that exhuast, did you like the clip?

Yes I loved the exhaust clip. Thanks for much for making that. I have already ordered the HKS. I plan to buy the V2 in the future after I get stationed and move to Texas next year. The weather here in NY is just to bad, and since you can't use the bypass valve with the V2, I'm not going to get it until I move to a place where there is better weather year round (Texas). I may call AEM and ask them if I can still use the AEM CAI with the new transmission mount from the V2. That way in the dry season I can use the V2 and in the winter/wet season I can use the AEM CAI. Probably would only take 5-10 mins to switch them out. Thanks again for the clip!

This sounds like a good deal to me!!
i think im going to go for it....... but let me get this straight...... the Aem CAI mounts differently then the V2? Does the V2 go down in the bumper like olders civics or is that the CAI that does that? youd think it would be better to put it down in the bumper, like under the battery????????

Both the V2 (haven't actually seen it but its supposed to) and the CAI go down and sit in front of the front bumper. Neither of the them actually go in the bumper like some the other CAI's. The V2 mounts pretty much the same way, but a new transmission mount has to be used when using the V2 to make room for the larger diameter piping of the V2. If have any other questions or want validation to what I said just give AEM a call. They'll be happy to answer your questions.
