How did you match/replace your trunk molding?

I know a lot of people here have that trunk molding matched. I have a sedan, so Im looking to get rid of it. I know Handa carries the hood molding matched, but I heard the only alternative is to have it painted. Where did you guys go or what did you have done? DIY?

honda does not make a replacement. it has to be painted. but my body shop guy said that they couldn't paint the existing one because of the material its made of.

Edit: i have the trunk molding color matched EBP. do it, it looks better than chrome.

I bought the front strip from my dealer and then sanded, primed, painted, and clear coated my back strip. It turned out sweeeet!

For painting the rear strip you might want to pickle it first.
