Yes, it is very legal. Look at all of the cars on the road today and half of them will have a clear lens with an amber bulb from the factory.

In Texas you will be fine. The law doesn't say you need an amber reflector, just a reflector. As long as you have an amber bulb(I recomend the B1 Polorized) you will not be stoped by cops.
theguysmiley hit ir right on the head again. A reflector is required (they call them reflex reflectors in state inspection guidelines) that must be a certain size and on the front/side of a vehicle. I thought they were always required to be amber (as they are here in PA) but perhaps TX is different

Ok, this topic has been beaten to death.
In most states you can have either a white or amber turn signal. Amber would be the safest bet. You also MUST have an ORANGE reflector in the front!!!! It does not necessarily have to be in the headlight assembly but it has to be somewhere on the front. So if you clear your lights you can put a stick on orange reflector on your bumper ito make your car legal. No one says the clear headlamp is illegal per say but you need an orange reflector.

yes the bulbs are available but i have heard that you have to order them online and aren't available in stores.
The orange reflectors you can get at any parts store.

Most cops won't catch it at all. The people that will catch it will be the guys that inspect your car and the traffic police if they see the front. Amber turn bulbs are standard for all 50 states, but some states allow white turn signals also. If you do get your car inspected or busted by the traffic police you have no justification for not having an orange reflector.

it should be legal and you dont even have to have an amber bulb or amber reflector on front of your car. only a red reflector is mandartory on back of your car. i check this site out and it say white or amber turn signals okay and nothing else about amber reflectors on the front of your car....www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/
as far as the "reflex reflectors" go or any reflectors in the front of the car, some states only require that you have an orange reflector in the front of the car if your car is over certain dimensions. I know that in colorado, you can't be more than 80 inches wide (like a mack truck) or 30 feet long (like if you were hauling a trailer). I don't have any orange on my car and it's all good...........
