I have a 03 civic, which has a armrest storage, so u dont have to say go check the diy cuz it wont work. i tried that. Anyways, im trying to remove the center console to install my revo ss and bushing. I am trying to find out how to take the thing off, cuz its different fromt he 01 or 02 models. So i took the pins off the front. The 4 screws in the back bottom. And the one screw under the mat in the armrest storage and took the shift **** off. Im wondering what else i am missing or what else i have to do to get the piece off so i can get to the shifter. Any 03 civic drivers who have done this would help. Thanx. Any hidden screws or anything else u gotta do to take off the center piece. Thanx.

I think its the same console as the 02's just with a different peice where the armrest is....pop that whole section off....use a screw driver in the crease where it meets the side to pop it up....or you could hold the armrest and yank it...then there are 2 screws under the shifter boot housing that have to be removed. I think that should do it....I looked at a 03 briefly in the showroom, and that seems like the right procedure.

do i just yank at the two screws under the shift boot. feels like theres screws lower below the shifter under the whole console, that i have to take off or pull off to get to the shifter, but im not sure if i have too do that or not.

oh wait, i kno the two screws u mean, but im trying to get the piece off from the back where the armrest is, its loose, but, when i pull on it, it moves back and forth, but doesn't come up, should i keep yanking harder on it i guess? feels like theres screws below the shifter part on the sides, but theres no screws there. does it all come off from back to front as one piece or two?

I have an 03 lx and all you have to do is stick a knife blade under the plastic peice that holds the shift boot in place and you will se the additional 2 screws that you will have to remove, and be careful not to scratch your interior when you do it!!!
