ya there are 2 types of bulbs that will fit our car, the oem style and another style that looks familiar but the wire contacts are different for the socket. ours has 2 wire loops one on each side of the socket,on the other that looks familiar has four wires that our not looped, two on each side. i posted this diy earlier in the caneast forum i will try and find it and link you to it. linky

cut the wire on the bulb harness that controls the light when you have the headlights on.... the blinker lights won't light up when you turn on the headlights but they will turn on and blink faster when you use your turn signals..

u can also soder in a 10k (i think thats what it was) ohm resistor onto the oem relay for the blinker. it takes about 5 minutes to do, but u need to have some sodering skills. there was a diy here. u can find the resistor at a radio shack.

Re-read the thread

I have an idea for doing this now...gonna go buy new bulbs first
THANKS profurious !! if anybody wants to know its a 100k potentiameter its like a radio dial and you can solder that in place of a resistor in the relay, then you can change it to stock, 2x, 4x,6x,8x, or strobe speed.
For those of you thinking about soldiering in new resistors, sedans and coupes dont have the same relays.
Sedans use the same relays as older gen Civics. Coupes and sedans have different resistor levels.
