I just got my gold series kit the other day. Mex has given me advice on where to place the bulbs. However, we're both using the factory body kit. the front and rear are easy to attach pretty much anywhere, but the sides are placed pratically inside the sideskirts. the only real advantage to that method is that you dont have to drill holes in any metal. do a search, its been covered a few times with pictures and what not.

the wiring is fairly simple...the location of the physical tubes is the tricky part.

omg = oh my god

ok, the wires, cut to length once youve got the in place, and zip tie them to anything, each tube only has one wire on each end anyways, so its not too hard. The transformer, id suggest you put it under your hood, some people like to have the wiring go through the grommets on the firewall, but you dont have too, thats too much work and in the end it does the same thing.
uhh, everything else is pretty much self explanatory, just follow the wiring guide that comes with your tubes.
