turbo kits - anyone interested?
i made a few calls and decided to build turbo kits for our civics and sell them cheaper than turbo performance.....
basically it's the same kit from turbo performance but the manifold is built by my muffler guy....
i'll only make about 10 kits max and sell them for: 2000 - 2500 dollars...
i'm just wondering how many of you would be willing to buy one if i offered it at that price?

i'm piecing it together with ZN motorsports.... if something is broken and it isn't because of shipping damage, i'll replace it as long as you send the other part back...

my muffler guy is REALLY REALLY GOOD too... he do anything with welding equipment.... he's been featured in super chevy magazine, and has been doing this since like the 60's and 70's.... LOTS of experience.... he builds custom headers and exhausts for Lambo's and gets work from all over the world... so yea... muffler guy rules..

VERY interested you can count me as one of the 10 but what will the numbers be, what kinda boost can we expect on stock internals with the basic boltons? what will the entire kit consist of?

Does anyone have any info in regards to turbo's and auto lx's? How does that work out? Will the stock tranny be able to handle it?
i would assume that it would depend on the amount of boost... but i'm pretty sure eventually the syncros are gonna blow in the tranny... or dat's what my friend tells me... whatever the hell those things are... heh but yea... turbo charging any auto doesn't seem like too bright of an idea

I think you should list ther components of your kit and like a few others said, what kind of numbers we talkin? Personally, I'd like to see something posted other than just typed in. It's not that I don't trust you, its just, I don't know you from a whole in the wall and $2500 is alot of bank.
How about scanning something?

hell yeah! as long as the quality of he manifold is good, and it comes with good quipment (i.e. Tial wastegate, HKS/GReddy BOV, T3/T04 turbo, etc.). Even better with some type of warranty too. Keep me posted!!
BTW: Isn't it funny how we're all worried if the parts will come with a warranty, but don't give a hoot about our car's warranty?

turbo performance doesn't have any numbers and a bunch of you people got the kit... with stock injectors and internals.. max boost is like 4 psi.... which isn't much but add another 450cc injector in there and now you can boost like 8 pounds.... again.. i'm just looking to see how many people would be interested if i could produce a kit similar to the one turbo performance makes..... i'm just trying to help you guys out.... There's no way I'd have a muffler guy put a turbo kit on my car. It's a little more than slapping a turbo on and plumbing in an extra injector. Jotech <Their kit is amazing and trust me, you don't want to go with a cheap kit. I'd call them to find out exactly what it takes to put a successful turbo kit on our cars. BTW, Riceburnrex is putting down around 240FWHP with their kit. He dynoed 197at the wheels with 8psi when he first got it.

I am interested, I would like to make sure the kit is up and running and is safe first because that is a big investment for me. But like you said for 2000 I would definately try to get one. Just gotta get the money together. I would like to see some numbers and everything first too.

Show some initiative so that people will trust you to buy from you.
So far it does not look good.

i'm still in the works of gathering all the parts together.... gimme a lil more time... i know i shoulda done that a before i posted but whats the point in putting a cheap kit together if no one is interested in getting it... just gimme a lil more time... i'll post again once i have it together....
I live in Riverside County (CA) and I am just curious as to what the name of the muffler shop is.
I am definately interested to find out more info on your offer. I would be willing to pay $2000-$2500 if the kit includes good quality parts and a warranty is offered.

Ok lemme get some things offa my back.
For those who are confused about this turbo or jus want some extra info read some.
As long as the parts are legit this 'muffler guy' can totally do it. Building a turbo is not hard at all. Some people here think you gotta be a freakin superhero. Now obviously a turbo for our cars is totally different, but for a kit that is supposed to spool about 4 psi I wouldn't worry about it as long as, once again the parts are welded installed bolted correctly.
jungleboogie, you have no idea what you're talkin about. An automatic is WAY better for a turbo than a manual transmission. And an LX automatic would be the best default. Why? Lower compression ratio. Forced Induction means higher degree in your internals. A high compression ratio meens that your internals are workin hard as is, without FI. A high compression also meens a higher redline and faster workin engine towards the top end of the RPM band. You won't see a normal s2000 with a 100shot of nitrous, thas jus a deathwish, why? because the pistons and rods will go sky high. Of course this is why people debate FI over NA. Back to the automatic, FI + automatic = Perfect shifting. An automatic shifts right before the redline making it safe for the transmission and easier on the torque converter. Im not saying a manual tranny is bad for FI but it's jus not nearly as safe. With a stick you can possibly hit revlimiter, grind gears, or even totally miss your shift, all of which with FI will mess your car up. For those who missed a shift or what not knows how nasty it feels, imagine with a 50shot sprayin into your throttle body without any fuel to mix in the combustin chamber, not healthy; and try not to even imagine that on a turbo.
Here is what I am worried about. The price you quoted us is obviously not exact. It is way pricey. A Greddy turbo kit for 92-00 Civics run 18-22 grand., warrenty and all.
Im not very interested in this kit but if you can come out with a product list and a ball park price it will totally help. Also, a blue print of this kit installed would be best.
